Jose Maria Roman writes...

The twentieth century gave to Vincentian historiography the great work, "Le grand saint du grand siècle, Monsieur Vincent" (Paris. Desclée de Brouwer, 1932) This was written in three volumes and was the masterpiece of the Vincentian priest, Pierre Coste (1873-1935).

The author, who was archivist and Secretary General of the Congregation of the Mission, had earlier edited the complete works of Vincent de Paul under the title, "Saint Vincent de Paul. Correspondence. Entretiens. Documents."
