HISTORY OF THE DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY NOTE: Although the Daughters of Charity are a separate community with its own history, the relationship to the C.M. has been so close that the history of the two groups is often intertwined. In many place the histories runs parallel. It's possible to teach this class at the same time with the history of the C.M., highlighting pertinent data from the history of the sisters. This may be neccessary because the historiography of the Daughters is horrendous. A good critical history remains to be written. Hand Out Appendix 3; "The History of the Daughters of Charity.
